Fishing/Outdoor Report:

People that are fishing are reporting good catches of crappie and bluegill. Using small jigs tipped with wax worms and/or small plastics in 8 to 15 feet of water next to the weed drop off areas. Sometimes suspended so varying depths is important. Having electronic would be even better.

Walleye continues to be an occasional one mostly into the late afternoon to evening hours. Tip ups with a shiner or walleye sucker in 6 to 10 feet of water along weed edges, Northern action continues to be a sure thing. Same rigging as the walleye, but over the weeds and drop off areas. Even a couple of musky caught using those same methods.

Snowmobiles all over the area. Every business seems to be busy catering to the snowmobiles. Went by Black Iron, Tally Ho, Dow’s Corner, Reel Livin’ and Lost Land Lake Lodge and there were more sleds there than cars. I am sure Red Deer Resort was just as busy. Riders reported the trails are in excellent condition, but are getting a little soft with the warming conditions.
